Melissa McCarthy will star in a new Comedy 'Can You Ever Forgive Me?' by The Fox Searchlight. The film is based on Lee Israel's memoir . McCarthy will play Israel, who is known for forging famous people's letters to make ends meet. She was charged in 1993 for conspiracy to transport stolen property and served six months under house arrest after pleading guilty. The film will be directed by Marielle Heller who is known for Diary of a Teenage Girl.
