Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson announced Monday that he would star in a film adaptation of Doc Savage. The movie will be helmed by action director Shane Black, the man behind Iron Man 3 and The Nice Guys. Black has been trying to adapt the pulp hero Doc Savage to the big screen since at least 2013. Johnson says he is excited about playing the title character, calling him a, quote, hilarious weirdo.
