For the fans that say that the reboot is destroying their childhood memories Mccarthy had this to say in an interview with the Guardian, "All those comments, ?You're ruining my childhood!' I mean, really, four women doing any movie on earth will destroy your childhood?" McCarthy went on to express sympathy for the trolls who don't have a best friend in their lives like her husband and fellow actor Ben Falcone. She said she hopes that those who spew their hate on the internet eventually find a friend one day.
