Johnny Depp?s spokesperson has finally addressed news of the movie star?s divorce from Amber Heard.
The actress, 30, filed papers to end the couple?s 15-month marriage in a Los Angeles court on Monday. She listed May 22 as their date of separation ? just two days after the Pirates of the Caribbean star lost his mother, Betty Sue Palmer, following a long illness ? and cited irreconcilable differences for the split.
A rep for the actor has now spoken out for the first time since the divorce news surfaced, taking aim at gossip swirling around the couple, and revealing Depp is hoping for a quick split.
A statement to E! News reads: ?Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life.
?Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.?
