Broadway musical American Psycho has been cut short due to low box office sales. The musical is an adaptation of the novel by Bret Easton Ellis, which was already turned into a film in 2000, starring Christian Bale. The story focuses on well-to-do investment banker Patrick Bateman, who lives in Manhattan in the late 80s and is secretly a serial killer. Benjamin Walker plays Bateman in the musical version. The musical received poor reviews from critics and barely made $600,000 a week in ticket sales. On June 5th the show will close after only 81 performances.
