After renewed allegations of sexual assault were leveled against the director, Susan Sarandon has slammed Woody Allen at the Cannes Film Festival.
At a "Woman in Motion" talk, Sarandon said of Allen on Sunday: "I think he sexually assaulted a child and I don't think that's right." Sarandon was speaking alongside Geena Davis. She declined to comment further on the subject.
"Cafe Society," Allen's latest feature opened the festival on Wednesday. Ronan Farrow, Allen's son posted a column the same day calling for media, moviegoers and film festivals to reconsider their embrace of the director.
Allen's daughter, Dylan, has said he molested her when she was 7. Allen has denied it.
