Acclaimed director Woody Allen opened the 69th Cannes Film Festival with his 1930s Hollywood romance "Cafe Society." Meanwhile, the Hollywood Reporter was posting a column by his son, Ronan Farrow, in which Farrow reiterates sex abuse allegations against Allen. The column also criticized the Cannes Festival and the media's continued support of Allen throughout these allegations. Surprisingly, no press at the festival asked the 80-year-old Allen about Farrow's column or the molestation allegations. Allen's publicist has not issued a comment. In his column, Farrow stated that the silence over this issue is "dangerous."
