Bruce Springsteen has decided to extend his popular River tour with the E Street Band to continue performing the album across a U.S. stadium tour this summer. Springsteen had no concrete plans to tour with the E Street Band this year until November 2015, when the idea to partner the release of the River box set with a tour of U.S. stadiums that branched into a giant world tour. Springsteen said that the expanding tour dates would give the band a chance to "stretch their muscles." The tour opens in August in New Jersey and closes in September in Massachusetts. There will be eight stadium stops on the tour.
