Russell Crowe stated that the Alex Kurtzman remake of "The Mummy" is designed to be bone chilling and scary just like the first one with Boris Karloff was. Crowe will be playing the infamous multiple personalities of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in the film, and the mummy will be played by Sofia Boutella. The director, Alex Kurtzman previously wrote and produced Star Trek: Into Darkness. Universal put out the following plot line, "Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension." The new Mummy movie will be in theaters on June 9th 2017.
