Former 'Saturday Night Live' star Martin Short and dancer Derek Hough have joined the cast of NBC's "Hairspray Live!" which will premiere on December 7. The duo will join Jennifer Hudson and Harvey Fierstein in the TV musical based on the cult John Waters movie. Short will reportedly play the husband of Edna Turnblad, who will be played by a cross-dressing Fierstein. Meanwhile, Hough will play TV host Corny Collins. The new live musical will be directed for television by Alex Rudzinski, who previously helmed "Grease Live!"
