Deadpool?s massive success is prompting studios everywhere to rethink concepts for superhero movies that they previously believed to be risky. Already, plans for films like Lobo are moving forward, while other in-universe spin-offs at 20th Century Fox, such as New Mutants, are currently in the works. Ryan Reynolds is set to return as Deadpool in a now-confirmed sequel, but when it comes to which characters are returning and which are being introduced to the universe, news has been pretty quiet.
Former Disney stars tend to take on projects later in life that help break the squeaky-clean mold the company creates around its child stars. So, for fans of both Deadpool and Bella Thorne (who starred in Disney?s Shake It Up! from 20120 to 2013), that mold-breaking moment might come in the form of a big screen interpretation of Lady Deadpool ? if Thorne has anything to say about it, at least.
Recently, Thorne sat down with Moviefone to talk about her role in the upcoming Ratchet & Clank film, expressing her interest in both superhero movies and alternative roles. ?I?d be so down to play like a badass Marvel character,? said the actress. ?Any type of badass female in live-action, like Cora is in this movie. I also like playing roles that are very rebellious and real. So it?s good when you really show teenagers for how they actually act and how they actually talk.? When asked for specifics, Thorne immediately responded: ?Honestly, if I could just play a female version of Deadpool ? any character that?s a female version of Deadpool ? I?m so down!?
