June 21st will see the debut of a 13-episode series titled 'Greenleaf,' a show centering around an African American family and the drama that takes place within their "mega-church." The program marks Oprah Winfrey's return to acting for screen after 1990's 'Brewster Place.' She spoke of the role's effect on her in a recent interview, stating, "My real role on earth is to lift the consciousness ... It's about showing people new ways of seeing themselves and seeing the problems and flaws and dysfunctions that we all have and being able to lift that just enough that you can see yourself in that."
