AC/DC's lead singer Brian Johnson is opening up about the hearing loss scare that caused him to stop touring. And in a new statement Tuesday, Johnson said he wants "personally to explain" why he quit. He revealed that on March 7 several doctors told him that continuing to perform at large venues could lead to total deafness. Johnson said he was horrified at the news, but added he had been aware that his hearing loss was starting to interfere with his on stage performance. The lead singer said he is avoiding large venues for now. However, he's not fully retiring. Johnson said he plans to record music in studios.
