Patti Smith spoke with Ethan Hawke about their careers at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival when the conversation drifted toward acting. Smith said acting "is the worst f--ing job in the world", although she always thought that she would become an actor before a songwriter.
She went on to say- "I didn't have the right discipline. Acting is so hard....No one realizes what a rough gig it is, really."
