Ice Cube's latest film Barbershop: The Next Cut is facing a lawsuit that claims the plot of the film was directly lifted from a play. JD Lawrence, also known as Ronald Dickerson, says that his play Scissors and New York has the exact same plot as the film. Dickerson is claiming infringement damages of $20 million from the networks and studios who are involved on the project. Barbershop: The Next Cut is the third film in Malcolm D. Lee's series about Chicago barbershop owners. The film premiered in Los Angeles last week, and hits theaters April 15th.
