Jon Favreau's animated feature is now the second highest grossing American film in Indian Box office history. The Jungle Book bowed to $8.4 million or 554 million rupees in India. India loves The Jungle Book. Favreau's new live action take on the Rudyard Kipling children's classic was given a controversial PG rating in India, due to realism censors felt would scare children. The Jungle Book recorded the second highest opening for any title this year in India, behind only Bollywood title Airlift.
