Chris Evans had to overcome his own fears before taking on Iron Man in Captain America: Civil War. On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Evans said he was hesitant to play Captain America because it meant committing himself to a long term contract. Saying yes to the role meant signing up for a nine picture contract, instead of doing movies one at a time. The actor said he turned down the role a few times because he did not want to fail.
