In a recent interview with The Daily Mail, Queen guitarist Brian May rejected Sacha Baron Cohen's assessment that the band wanted to make a watered down version of a Freddy Mercury biographical film. Apparently Cohen wanted the film to be filled with the crazy and outlandish stories of Mercury's mercurial rise to rock and roll superstardom. Cohen stated he felt like Queen guitarist Brian May wanted to make a watered down version of the truth. Cohen was cast to portray Freddie Mercury but has since left the project. Guitarist, May stated, ""Sacha became an arse. We had some nice times with Sacha kicking around ideas, but he went off and told untruths about what happened."
