Vice President Joe Biden introduced Lady Gaga on Thursday at a rally against sexual assault in Las Vegas. The event was hosted by the University of Nevada as part of the It's On Us campaign. In his introductory speech, Biden praised Gaga by saying, "Imagine the courage it takes for her to speak out and then imagine the courage it takes for her to sing a song, ?Til It Happens to You,? that is branded in her heart.? The song was written by Gaga after her own experience with rape and it was first performed live at the Oscars. Gaga performed an extraordinary version of the song for her fans at the rally on Thursday. She has said that prior to her Oscar performance, much of her family was unaware of the event. "I was too ashamed. Too afraid. And it took me a long time to even admit it to myself."
