Simon Cowell didn?t know if he was going to make it to the American Idol series finale. He stated, ?At the moment, I?m due to be in another country, but I?m trying to work something out.? Turns out that he worked something out, because Cowell was there for the final show. He joined the other two original judges on the show, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul, for an emotional big-group hug. Cowell even teased Abdul for, ?being so mean to the contestants, when we were trying to be nurturing, helpful? I think now is the time to apologize to America.?
