Selena Gomez will be executive producing a currently untitled series for Freeform, the network formerly known as ABC Family. The singer-actress will co-produce the series with Aaron Kaplan, though she will not appear on the show. Gomez's mother, Mandy Teefey, will also be involved in the project. The drama is portrayed as a "Latina Empire," and is inspired by Anna Cobarrubias, who is a Los Angeles high school senior. The show is set in a low-income Los Angeles neighborhood and centers on an 18-year old who is "destined for greatness."
