American Idol paved the way for what a reality competition could be! As the show comes to an end after 15 seasons, original show host Randy Jackson spoke with Rolling Stone about his love and admiration for what the show accomplished. Jackson commented, Idol came, and I think for a lot of people that had been banging their head against the wall, trying to get in the industry, I think it showed them another way in.
