Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice received some criticism for including another interpretation of Batman's origin story. But Director Zack Snyder said it directly fed into the resolution of conflict between the two heroes.
In an interview with Forbes, Snyder said Superman and Batman live in a world where they are cared for and they can love their mother. Snyder said including the superhero's backstories brings the mother-son relationships to life for the audience. The director said showing the death of the Waynes again paid off.
