Robert De Niro issued a statement in defense of a film at the Tribeca Film Fest.
According to the venerable actor, the issue at heart is personal.
The controversial documentary, Vaxxed: From Cover-up to Catastrophe, has come under scrutiny for promoting the anti-vaccination movement.
De Niro, a fifteen year supporter of the film festival, stated he is not personally endorsing the film but simply wants there to be a discussion.
He added he only wants to add towards the conversation regarding the issue.
Vaxxed is scheduled to screen April 24th at the film festival.
