VIDEO : Paul McCartney wants to buy Beatles music back

Michael Jackson's estate recently sold their half of the ATV Music catalogue to Sony, and it had Beatles fans wondering if Paul McCartney was going to make another grab for the music. Under United States copyright law, songwriters have the right to reacquire their music from the publisher after 56 years. McCartney always regretted that Michael Jackson bought out the McCartney-Lennon Beatles songs with his purchase of the ATV Music catalogue, and now the songs are coming up for grabs in 2018. When asked about whether he planned to buy back the songs, a representative for McCartney confirmed that he has been making legal preparations to purchase the music since December of 2015.
