300 director Zack Snyder wants to move the battleground in the comic book franchise beyond Ancient Greece. Snyder says 300 is ready to adapt to different settings if Warner Brothers decides ancient Greece is no longer a place they want to visit. Snyder says the first two 300 movies could frame newer iterations taking place across history. For example, Snyder says 300 could follow the events of the Revolutionary War version, Alamo or battles in China. The first 300 was a huge sleeper hit, becoming for a long time the highest-grossing R-rated comic book adaptation ever made. The second was a big hit overseas even though it flopped domestically.
