Naomi Watts and Jessica Lange are set to appear side by side in Gia Coppola's new film based on Jean Nathan's Novel, The Secret Life of the Lonely Doll. The film focuses on Dare Wright, the successful writer of a hit children's series and Jean Nathan, the journalist who 40 years later searched for the out-of-print series only to find Wright living in a decrepit public hospital in Queens.
This is Gia Coppola's second film, following her debut with Palo Alto
Gia Coppola will direct the film, which will be adapted by Merritt Johnson. Jessica Lange and Naomi Watts will star in the adaptation of Jean Nathan?s book The Secret Life of the Lonely Doll. Four decades later, journalist Jean Nathan searches for the out-of-print book series, and discovers Wright living in a decrepit public hospital in Queens, New York. Indigenous Media, the media company formed by award-winning filmmakers Jon Avnet, Rodrigo Garcia and Jake Avnet, is producing the film along with Bruce Cohen and Untitled Entertainment partner Jason Weinberg.
