Classic folk songs seem to have gone out of style, but it's about time we started rebooting them for the 21st century.
And that's exactly what Stephen Colbert has set out to do!
Just in time for St. Patrick's Day weekend, Colbert commissioned a reboot of the 1913's sad and beautiful Irish melody, "Danny Boy." Although Colbert's new version is a lot less depressing, it now includes quite a bit more information about the narrator of the song.
And to add the cherry on top, Colbert commissioned renowned Irish opera tenor Karl Scully to showcase the new lyrics.
