Nicole Kidman braves the desert and fends off suitors in her new flick, Queen of the Desert. The biopic is based on the life of British traveller, writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer and political officer Gertrude Bell. Somewhat bored with life in Britain in the early 20th century, free spirited and adventurous Bell escapes to the Middle East. And while she's out there making her mark in history her life is not devoid of romantic entanglements. There's Henry Cadogan, played by James Franco, an embassy secretary who seduces Bell and insists they belong together. Then there's Damian Lewis' character, Charles Doughty-Wylie who also makes a play for her but 'her heart is not ready.' Last but not least, while on her travels she crosses paths with a very flirtatious T.E. Lawrence aka Lawrence of Arabia played by Robert Pattinson.
