VIDEO : Academy Apologizes To Asians For Insensitive Oscars Skit

As part of the Academy's response to the OscarsSoWhite diversity crisis, three new governors and six minority members have been added to the 51-member board of The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences An apology was also issued by the Academy for a skit during last month's Oscars award ceremony that was racially insensitive towards Asians. In a statement, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, president of the Academy, said that she is proud of the efforts the Academy is making to increase its diversity and accountability, but also stated that the Academy needs to continue to "make this a more inclusive organization."
