VIDEO : Broadway Musical 'Wicked' Makes $1 Billion

The Broadway show ?Wicked? has officially made 1 billion dollars in revenue. The only other two Broadway musicals to reach that feat have been ?The Lion King? and ?The Phantom of the Opera.? The musical is based off of Gregory Maguire?s novel ?Wizard of Oz,? which is the prequel to the book and film, ?The Wizard of Oz.? The musical first debuted in 2003, and that?s what critics find so jaw dropping. It only took ?Wicked? 12 1/2 years to reach $1 billion. That?s not the end of it either. ?Wicked? has been seen by 50 million people and has made $4 billion worldwide.
