On Monday morning, ABC and Jimmy Kimmel announced that the late-night talk show stalwart will be hosting the Primetime Emmy Awards for his second time. The last time Kimmel hosted was in 2012. The choice of Kimmel is a safe bet, as he's not known for calling out controversy, and currently the Emmys doesn't have any. It's unlikely that the awards ceremony will receive the same whitewashed criticism as the Oscars, since primetime TV is actually becoming refreshingly diverse. Most likely, Kimmel will be his reliable self, dishing out jokes and a tight monologue, keeping the show running on time.
