The Polar Plunge is a fundraiser for the Special Olympics that takes place every winter in Chicago. Many celebrities participate in plunging into the frigid Lake Michigan waters, and this year Al Roker and Lady Gaga were among them. This is the second time Lady Gaga has participated in the plunge. Gaga's fiance, Chicago Fire actor Taylor Kinney, also joined in the plunge. The stars lucked out because the weather this Sunday was warmer than in years past. During the plunge the National Weather Service reported that the air temperature was about 40 degrees.
