VIDEO : Nina Simone's Daughter Feels Bad For Zoe Saldana, Still Denounces Film

The daughter of Nina Simone has said she doesn't support the movie about her mother, but that she feels bad that Zoe Saldana being harshly criticized for her role in the movie. Lisa Simone Kelly said "It?s clear she brought her best to this project, but unfortunately she?s being attacked when she?s not responsible for any of the writing or the lies." Kelly said even though her family is upset with the film they did not send out a harsh tweet from a Nina Simone Twitter account. The film centers on Simone's relationship with her then manager Clifton Henderson, a relationship Kelly said never happened because Henderson is gay. Saldana has been criticized for wearing dark makeup for the role.
