The estate of Nina Simone has taken aim at Zoe Saldana who plays Simone in the upcoming biopic about the late singer's life. Saldana tweeted a Simone quote, "I'll tell you what freedom is to me ? No Fear" Simone's estate replied on Twitter, "Cool story but please take Nina's name out your mouth. For the rest of your life."
The controversy lies in that Saldana having little to no resemblance to Simone and having to darken her features with make up as well as change her nose with a prosthetic for the part. Nina Simone's Estate has shown little to no support of Nina since the conception of the film.
