In Gotham Central, the comic generally assumed to be the inspiration for FOX's Gotham, the mere existence of the Batman in Gotham City leads police officers to wonder what the point is of what they do. Apparently, in the same way that Batman's methods and skillset make the local cops feel obsolete, Superman will make Batman question the point of his mission in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
