VIDEO : Spike Jonze Directs Dark And Quirky 'Late Show' Intro

Celebrity in this news:

"Being John Malkovich" and "Her" director Spike Jonze was a guest on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" on Monday to promote the launch of the new Viceland TV network. And in an opening segment that re-envisioned the show's familiar introduction, Jonze was allowed by host Stephen Colbert to craft an homage to New York City. The resulting short film featured Colbert wandering the streets downtrodden and forlorn, in an army green-colored winter jacket, when Grover from Sesame Street intervenes to lead him back towards his Late Show studio and loving audience. The segment was accompanied by a slower version of the show's theme song, and tapped into the artsy wonderment the "Where the Wild Things Are" auteur is known for.
