The lack of diversity at the Oscars was the main focus of Chris Rock's opening monologue and much of the discussion around the awards ceremony in general. For the event, Chris Rock created a video that proved how little black movie-goers care about the nominated films in which people of color are under-represented. In the video, Rock visits a movie theater in Compton to quiz people about the nominated films, and most have not even watched them.
