The film adaptation for Stephen King?s novel, ?The Dark Tower,? is officially in pre-production and the film is set to star Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba. Elba has been cast to play Roland Deschain, the hero of the novel. McConaughey is cast to play the villain ?the man in black,? otherwise known as Randall Flagg. King reflects on how long it took the book to become a movie, by stating, ?When you think about it, I started these stories as a senior in college, sitting in a little? cabin beside a river in Maine, and finally this thing is actually in pre-production now. I?m delighted, and I?m a little bit surprised.
