VIDEO : Spike Orders TV Pilot Based On Stephen King's 'The Mist'

The Viacom-owned Spike television network has ordered a pilot for a TV adaptation of the Stephen King novella "The Mist." The story of a small town thrown into chaos by the appearance of a mysterious mist was previously turned into a feature film, in 2007, by writer/director Frank Darabont, who later went on to develop & executive produce "The Walking Dead" for AMC. The show's pilot will be executive produced by Christian Torpe. Speaking of the new show, Spike's Sharon Levy said: "We are thrilled to join forces with the incredibly creative Christian Torpe and Dimension Films to develop Stephen King?s enthralling novella to a compelling series unlike anything else on television.?
