In a New York City Court on Friday, pop star Kesha was denied of the request to be freed from a contract with her record producer. The singer claims that her producer, Dr. Luke, sexually and emotionally abused her, along with drugging her in the past. She signed a contract with him in 2005 to record five records, and has recorded two of the five. On the terms of finishing her contract, she said "I cannot work with this monster." Dr. Luke's and Sony Music Entertainment's lawyers have claimed that Kesha is violating the contract by not completing all five albums. The have offered for her to record with her existing label and not work directly with Dr. Luke. However, he would still have the rights to her music. Manhattan state Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich denied Kesha's request to be freed on the grounds that the singer still has the opportunity to record.
