VIDEO : Edward Snowden Movie Pushed to Fall 2016

Open Road Films is pushing back the release of Oliver Stone's highly-anticipated movie 'Snowden' from May 13 to September 16, which is also the beginning of the awards season. The biopic stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as controversial NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden. This is third time Snowden has changed its release date. It was originally set to open December 25, 2015, in time for consideration this awards season. In its new date of September 16, Snowden will be able to take advantage of fall film festivals and will also avoid having to compete with studio summer blockbusters.
