RON HOWARD has reportedly stepped in to replace PAUL THOMAS ANDERSON as the director of ROBERT DOWNEY, JR.?s upcoming PINOCCHIO live action remake. However, he dropped out in November, and now ?A Beautiful Mind? filmmaker Howard has been drafted in to move the project forward, according to Tracking-Board.com. Downey, Jr., who has been developing ?Pinocchio? for years, will play woodcarver Geppetto in the latest version of Carlo Collodi?s classic story. The new Warner Bros. movie?s plot is said to revolve around Geppetto?s search for Pinocchio when he goes missing.
