Barbara Streisand has cast Keira Knightley as the title role in her knew biopic Catherine the Great. Thirty year old Knightley is currently discussing the role of the Russian monarch. Streisand's film will follow a young Catherine trapped in an abusive marriage to Peter the III, through her rise to power. This will be the first film Streisand has directed since her 1996 film The Mirror Has Two Faces. Knightley also has the lead role in Colette, a biopic about the famous French writer. The film has been one of the most sought-after tickets for the Berlin Film Festival.
