Angeline Jolie's 2010 action movie Salt earned decent reviews and made over $118 million at the box office, though it needed the heftier foreign market earnings to overcome its $110 million budget. With Salt 2 sidelined ever since Jolie rejected the initial script back in 2012, it looks like a new TV series may now be in the works. Screen Daily reports that Sony Pictures Entertainment is developing a ?remake? of Salt for the small screen, and pitching it to interested parties at this week?s European Film Market, which runs alongside the Berlin Film Festival. While the ending of the film left room for a sequel, the television series is being labeled as a ?remake? rather than a continuation of the story.
