On Monday, Girls creator and star Lena Dunham announced that she will not be partaking in any promotion for the upcoming fifth season of her HBO series. Writing on Instagram, the actress revealed that she has hit a ?rough patch? in her longtime struggle with endometriosis. In her note, Dunham wrote, "So many women with this disease literally don?t have the option of time off and I won?t take it for granted.? Last November, she also wrote about juggling work and battling the disease in her Lenny Letter newsletter. According to Dunham in the November note, she underwent laparoscopic surgery to diagnose her endometriosis and have since started monthly injections after experiencing a recurrence of symptoms associated with the disease.
