To fans of Star Wars, one of the hotly debated topics going into the new trilogy with The Force Awakens was the question of who - if any - would be appearing from previous episodes as force ghosts. The idea behind a force ghost is that Jedi Knights who have died may still live on spiritually, often offering guidance to other characters. Although force ghosts did not appear in Episode VII, there may be hope yet for the next installment as Kristian Harloff of Collider Jedi Council tweeted the following message: "Grain of salt: hearing that Ewan Mcgregor in talks to play Obi Force ghost in Episode 8." The rumor has not been confirmed by any official sources yet, but considering that McGregor was brought in to record a single line of dialogue for The Force Awakens, its possibility remains.
