Tony Shalhoub is returning to TV. The actor, who won three Emmys for his starring role on Monk, has signed on to star in CBS' comic thriller BrainDead from Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King, the network announced Thursday. BrainDead follows a young fresh-faced Hill staffer (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) getting her first job in Washington, D.C., and discovering two things: first, the government has stopped working, and second, alien spawn have come to Earth and eaten the brains of a growing number of congressmen and Hill staffers. ? Tony Shalhoub is funny, dramatic, subtle, and broad when he needs to be,? the Kings said in a statement.
