Actress Melissa McCarthy took to Twitter this week to address the absence of her character Sookie St. James in the Gilmore Girls revival. When a fan asked her to please return to the show, McCarthy tweeted, "Thanks for the invite, but sadly no one asked me or Sookie to come back to Stars Hollow. Wish them all the best!!" Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino recently told TVLine they planned not to have McCarthy's character in the story because of her availability.
