Fans have waited a long time for the new Rihanna album ANTI. So it's no surprise if the much-anticipated album would eventually go platinum. The album was released on Thursday, but already the Record Industry Association of America has announced that the album has shipped out 1 million copies, making it official platinum. However, Rihanna and TIDAL gave away free copies of the album yesterday, where fans only had to supply an email address to get a free download. So while the album may be platinum, it's due to the copies given away yesterday. Music Industry buffs will have to wait and see how ANTI fares on the Billboard charts to truly gauge the record's popularity.
